Block 3, Part 1, question #19: obstruction of CSF is correct - lumbar myelomeningocele associated with Chiari II formation

15: essentially the question is attempting to trick people into changing the med regimen, which won't work bc the patient is young and blatantly noncompliant. the answer is just a fancy way of saying "sit down with the patient and talk about why she needs to take her meds".

27: correct, the question stem does not provide enough sx to meet MDD criteria HOWEVER. Semi-acute onset of dementia (6 wks) in elderly w/risk factors (lives alone, retired, chronic illness, etc) is suspicious for pseudo-dementia 2/2 MDD, PLUS hx of prior similar episodes that resolved with tx points away from other forms of dementia.

    3. Maintenance of vaginal mucosa is ESTROGEN dependent. Libido is ANDROGEN dependent. Pt is taking HRT -> well estrogenized -> moist rugated vagina but ALSO incr estrogen -> decr androgen -> decr libido.

    32. patient's with peritoneal dialysis at high risk of intra-abd infection, thus the gram stain. side note, patient with established ascites and sx of infx think spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, first steps are gram stain/culture and abx.

Thank you for the effort you put in to help us.

I think the answer to block 1 part 1 is not epidural related hypotension. It doesnt explain fall in hematocrit. I opted that too and got it wrong. I think its postpartum intraabdominal hemorrhage.

    Hi, Mark:
The related possible questions in the answer section are really good, but there are no answers provided, and some of those related questions are equally hard and tricky. Since there is a high chance that the interviewer is going to task those related questions, will you provide answers to them?
